Alright, so I do believe we are progressing quite nicely in the individual areas of our game but as a whole I'm lost as of where we are going, and what we are trying to achieve. Not so much as a story, but as a platform.
Essentially we are trying to create a Story-driven 2D Survival Horror.
Things I'm lost on:
The Look:
From what I saw in the pre-alpha, are we keeping the whole Pokemon top down view? Or we going with something more like the side-scroller look?
Examples of 2D Survival Horror Side-Scrollers:
Claire: A Silent Hill inspired side scrolling available on Steam and Desura.
Lone Survivor: A Psychological Survivor Horror available on Steam, Mac, Linux, PS3 and Vita.
Both very well received 2D Survivor Horrors, both very similar. Since their releases, both have received very good feedback from communities.
As for who we are making this for, I assume the fans. (Fans including ourselves) I want to create something great here, and am willing to put as much of my time as I can allow. Like most people I do need to pay my rent, and think of myself when it comes to supporting. But I do not underestimate the amount of time it takes to create a game. I spent 3 months just creating the Game Treatment for my own creation. 3 months of hard work, only to sadly end up scraping it.
I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on all this, and just help catch everyone up on major details.
