Week 2 saw the release of a second build that demonstrated the beginning stages of the gameplay. Character movement, item usage, and various sound effects have already been put in place. Up next on the agenda will be getting the map to properly function. Character-wise, we've added a friend of Amber's who killed herself after constant bullying from classmates. Amber blames herself for this and the guilt is her driving force for entering Silent Hill's Otherworld. Tying in with this character, there will be a high school level added as our third main stage of the game. We're going to add the high school to the south of Brookhaven which means we'll be following this scenario: Nightmare->Lakeside Amusement Park->Brookhaven Hospital->unnamed high school-> ->Nowhere As you can see, we still need one more main stage to round out the game. From a graphical standpoint, we now have icons for all three melee weapons (knife, steel pipe, and fire axe) as well as the handgun thanks to Renard. We really need to get somebody or a team of people to start doing the tilesets and sprites as I'm currently using Pokemon sprites as placeholders. We need to find a place for the character who sees the Otherworld as a beautiful place. I really liked that idea and would like to have it included in the final game. I was thinking of it being a character unrelated to Amber's story who we come across at various points in the story - kind of like the side characters in Silent Hill 2 who weren't really a part of James's story. Maybe another tourist in Silent Hill? Maybe a cult member?
