so how should we divide the work here? Should we both (all, if more people want to jump on board) be coming up with tracks, or should we have separate roles on the same set of tracks? I think it would sound best if everything were mastered (and maybe even mixed) by the same person. I can do that, but I'd like to have a place in the composition, too.
Also, should we be reprising tracks from other places in the series, or should it be completely original? I personally think a mixture between the two is most appropriate. I'd also like to explore lightly sampling the other soundtracks.
btw, I'm going to be out of the state for the next week or so starting monday. Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm dropping off the face of the earth.

I want the soundtrack to mostly original music. If a track from a previous soundtrack would fit well with this game, then it might be worth putting it in.
Having the same mixer on the whole soundtrack is a great idea to keep a sense of consistency with (likely) more than one person providing music. Ideally, I'd like to have the team vote on which tracks get included in the final game. I'd also like to do a soundtrack release alongside the game when it's finished.

Good. Hopefully, too, we can do a lot of stem posting so we can do reprising, revising and sampling from within the original soundtrack.
I'm envisioning an awesome soundtrack. I don't know at the moment if I'll have the time to do this on my trip, but I may write an analysis of some of the official games' soundtracks.

It would be cool if the music contained hints and traces of the other games' soundtracks, but remained mostly original.
